Walks Back In Time
Walking and Light Camping Safaris
in East Africa
John Moller coined the phrase “walks back in time” many
years ago for his favorite style of safari. Nothing puts one
in touch with Africa so well as spending the cool hours of the
day on foot: far away from roads and vehicles, and enjoying the
sights and sounds and smells of nature, with broad vistas of
Africa all around.
For people who enjoy walking, and want to experience Africa
the way the explorers did, this is the perfect style of safari,
and John Moller is the perfect guide for it. John’s 30
year’s experience as a top professional hunter, guarantees
that he is not only knowledgeable about the natural history of
Africa, but he is also superbly qualified to handle any surprises
that traveling on foot through Africa entails.
John has a rare combination of qualities: he is a fun traveling
companion; always ready for a laugh and always happy to share
a drop or two of whiskey at night around the campfire, but he
is also one of the best-qualified amateur ‘bush doctors’ in
East Africa.
Our walking safaris are conducted on private wildlife concessions
or remote nature reserves, where we get away from roads and people,
but still have easy logistical access to ‘back-up’ if
we need it. We recommend at least 3-4 days out walking with our
comfortable mobile camps ready and waiting for you each night,
and a vehicle available in areas where we wish to photograph
large mammals up close.
A walking safari can be the perfect way to start your safari;
get the limbs loosened up after too long in the office, and get
your soul back after too long in the big city, or it can be the
finale of another great African safari.
Our ‘Walks Back in Time’ will take you back to a
time in Africa almost forgotten, and help you re-discover a place
in your soul you will never want to leave.
